[harbourfront 93 eunos]

while i was at changi airport earlier trying to give tuiton to some of my O level juniors who seem much more motivated and mugger-ish than I did at this time last year, I was taken aback by the yearly changes that affect Changi Airport during this time of the year we term the "exam period". Food court tables and chairs which are normally empty (who is stupid enough to pay $4.50++ for a plate of chicken rice!? seriously...) are crammed full of students, no matter of which school, which race, which age, which geographical location. Viewing galleries which are normally empty suddenly see students occupying every cozy corner in very weird postions. Obscure places out of the well trodden path are occupied by students looking for some peace and quiet.

I thought that Changi Airport would be a perfect place to study peacefully without any major disturbances, apparently hundreds of other students thought the same way. Pockets of quiet and peace have now been defiled by students with their mp3 players and their large headphones yakking away with their friends. As a result, the airport isn't such a condusive environment for studying anymore. However, being the kee siao and weirdo that I am, I choose weird places to study. I have gone to Changi Point to study; it is a very quiet and windy place, but you spend half of the time trying to prevent your notes from flying away. Hence, I have managed to find a relative haven among the chaos of Changi Airport.

I present to you all...

The staff canteens. Seriously. If my O1 flick can go there and play cards, make noise, cause chaos for 6 consecutive hours undisturbed, I don't see why we can't go there to study, be quiet and blend in with the surroundings undisturbed. And where else in CGA can you get food for a maximum for $2.00 !? =)=)=)
