haha... you guys sound really serious in your blogs... i think it must be the stress of the mid years and the getting back of results, that's making all of us think so much abt what's life and that's getting us all philosophical... haha :)
here's my two cents worth, its quite crappy, so ignore it if you're not in the mood for crap.
It's all well and easy to say that we shouldn't be comformists, that we should be daring and just do whatever we want and live like there's no tmr. but it's not easy. it never is. because we know that tmr will come. and we have been raised in an environment that encourages us to think in this way. that if you study hard, you will be rewarded with great results, and that once you get the great results, you can get a good life and all those stuff. to all our subconscious, it's quite true, cause the ppl around who have studied hard more or less got better jobs than those who dropped out. that's why our results bother us so much. And it is still true to some extent. The Uni Grads are still getting more and better jobs than those who don't have the paper qualifications.
hmmm... i'm not asking everyone to mug their butts off to get into uni, but i do feel that what we're doing now is not completely usless. it all part and parcel of life, something that everyone has to go through sooner or later. and sometimes we stop and question- why am i doing this? and we say something like" it's probably not going to matter later on in my life." but i think that even though these small things will not matter in the future, its really the process of doing these things that will get you through the day. hmmm... eg we learn trig and we think- why do we have to learn this? is not as if i'll go out to the field, look at the tree and then try to calculate the height of the tree by using the angle between the horizontal and our eyes. But i think that just having the knowledge is the thing that is impt. now we can go out, and prclaim to the whole world that haha... i can calculate the height of this tree if i want to (though i'm not so bored as to do such a stupid thing)
i sound like a mugger. okay. what i'm saying is just that we have to just endure with the tougher things in life, cause its impossible that everything that we have would be fun, or all great and amazing and wonderful. its all the bad things that make us appreciate the finer things more, and we just have to endure all the crap before anytthing good comes up. and while its easy to stop all that you're doing completely, and think, "i don't need this" it would be more rewarding to just suck it up and complete the bad stuff. and that completing jc education is just a life course that ppl have to follow, (though it is not the only one) and it may not be as bad as we all make it out to be so cheer up ppl, not all that we are doing is useless. :D
