AH~

AH!
Finally i found someone who has more or less the same frenquency as me..lol.
I have been thinking of this since last yr...the question: Why must we study so much?

Does it really matter if i become the top student of vj?
Does it really matter if i become the last in level of vj?

Personally i tink yup we only have one life, we shouldnt spend our whole life studying....and besides we are learning things that isnt really applicable to life...
As i always tell my frens, y are they so many topics on ideal gases when they dun exist?
Its just like saying, " Let's study aliens, although we know that aliens dun exist."
For me, i have been touching computers since secondary school, then now in vj, i'm taking computing, having icomp and robotics as my ccas..and i more or less already decided tt computing will be my future path le.

However, there are occasions where i get sick of computing...i see the practicals then i dun feel like doing...so i will wonder if i should take up a computing career or not.
Take Breadtalk as an example, they are such a successful company, having branches in many countries, earning so much money...
Do they need anything from our lecture notes? Nope..its all about baking bread..
True la, they need educated pple to run the company, but baking bread is still the core of the company.
Tts y sometimes i tot that i should set up some food stall instead, then sell food..
Actually i quite like fast cars, but no men lu('door' 'way') in singapore haha..tt malaysian who raced in Formula 1 end up getting last in all races.
But again, as what wilbur said, i dun have the courage to break the tradition. Tts y i'm in vj. Otherwise, perhaps i am be in ITE learning how to repair cars.
Well i agree we should do something great while in vj...hence we have so many of us trying hard to win competitions and medals etc...which includes me haha.
But i had a hard time juggling between the training(for computing olympaid) and the studies...
I train hard to brush up my programming skills, when exams are nearing i stopped to study.
In the end? Liang tuo bu shi an("No beach at both ends") i flunked both.
My instructor told me, there are 2 routes to uni, the conventional and the unconventional.
The conventional route is to mug like mad for A levels, get good results and go uni.(which i dunwan)
The unconventional route is to win some international competition, then get admitted based on ur talents.
And apparently my mother couldnt get this message...she blew her top when i told her my results, said i do too much computing and neglect my studies. Never mind.
I personally tink tt many pple want to study, get good grades so that they can get a good JOB that earns good MONEY.

That brings me to my next question: Why do we need so much money?

U see, all of us gonna die one day, and we cant bring those money into our coffins, we cant bring our branded goods, our computers, our tvs, our books, out clothes etc into our tombs, so y earn so much money?
I dun mean we shouldnt live without money....we need money for our basic survival. But i tink tt there's no need for us to earn SO MUCH MONEY RIGHT?
I mean, why are singaporeans so picky abt salary and status? Wat's wrong with washing dishes and sweeping the roads? My key point here is zhi zu chang le(aka be contented)..dun be obsessed with money...we seriously dun need so much money..haha.
As i have said high up in the post, our life should not be all about studies and earning money. I tink the more impt thing is experience and memories. Friends, family, love, warmth, peace, memories etc..those are the more impt things in life.

Thus there is the all familiar saying: The best things in life are free.

The difference between me and wilbur is tt I am not a christian(despite four years in ahs) haha..my family is taoist, and i follow them, but actually i am more of a free thinker, so i dont believe there is some great person to help me. But i agree tt we have to find our purpose in life, our meaning in life.
