After many exams taken, I've finally thought up of some universal truths (tested and tried after repeated experience on myself) about exams:
- The most important period for studying is the day before your exam. It can decide an A from an F, or anything in between.
- Examinations are like any other sports competition. You may be damn good, study damn hard.. but what really matters is the 2 / 3 hours in the examination grounds. You may study little and do well; or study much and do badly - its all about strategizing once you're inside
- Make sure you know your time (especially in papers like econs).
REAL life experience: Today, I was rushing through my econs paper from the start, to make sure I would have adequate time. When I finally had half an hour left for my last essay; I thought I had 20 minutes and sped up. After I realised that, I had compromised on my previous essay.. and was taking my time on my last essay. In the end, coz I was taking my time, I had to rush again in the end..
- If you sleep during your paper, you're giving away marks to your teacher (I almost slept chinese)
- For unimportant subjects (like chinese), its ok to sleep coz its too boring anyway =p
- Wasting away 4 hours of your precious time playing, going online, and watching TV after an econs paper is not exactly wise
- Then again, it's probably ok if you don't have computing the next day! =p
- Whatever it is, if you're feeling stressed, just look a littlee further (be far-sighted) and you'll see that exams are over and what you can do then
