With the onset of the Pressurizing Examinations - Promos - students are about to be burned out and squashed beyond recognition by the pressure from all directions they're receiving.
The S44 Chronicles interviews certain famous personalities to find out their views on the matter:
Mr. Potential Shinger, the chemist, says,
"Actually, just like in chemistry, pressure speeds up and drives the reaction forward. So, all these pressure will help students to work harder and work better; nothing bad.. unless the pressure is too high, then it can get a bit dangerous.. But whatever happens, just remember,
pV = nRT and your Le Chatelier's Principle; you should be fine! "
Mrs. Sting, the correspondent on globalisation, says,
"You see, the world is getting more integrated and competitive, and so, of course there's increased pressure on the students. But look, the pressure's on me now, coz GP is over and I've to mark their horrid scripts. Argh."
Ms V.Prawn, the economic analyst (and seafood lover), says,
"It all depends on your opportunity cost of leisure you know: whether your substitution effect is greater or your grades effect is greater. At the end of it all, if you don't do well, you can always drop econs! In fact, I encourage you to.. so, no pressure! Really!"
And finally, this year's new spokesman for the Healthy Lifestyle Campaign, Mr. Gui, remarks,
"You can always relieve stress by taking a jog in East Coast Park every morning before school, or practise Yoga with me after school. Stress is part and parcel of every student's life, so exercise your civic responsibility and don't complain so much."
Finally, his eyes darkened and he continued...
"Beware,
For after this comes your WR and your OP
And I'll always be here to haunt you
So may the Force be with you..
"
And so, here ends the brief interview that we have conducted before our reporter suffered from severe psychological trauma.
The S44 chronicles wishes everyone all the best for the upcoming promotional exams and repeats that there is no cause to be too stressed now, because the really difficult times would be the aftermath of the exams; and by then, you would be too busy playing to be stressed.
Life goes on whatever happens.
