After Chem Paper 1 today you could almost see everyone's paths diverging off here and there as they walked out of the classroom door, ready to 'begin' new lives and new adventures. Maybe except for the S paper people, and the Computing people, all 14 of them, who will finally taste freedom in some classroom on a Friday evening.
We will no longer see each other until March next year, by then the girls will have blossomed into women and the boys will have become balder and blacker (and hopefully much fitter). We no longer need to wear that beige uniform that has become synonymous with VJC. We no longer need to trudge through the school gate every morning. Seems like the final farewell.
Many seniors have said that their JC days were the best days of their lives. I have heard this phrase so many times that it has almost become a cliche. Previously I scoffed at such a cliche. Now that my JC days are coming to an end it is then that I truly realise how true that statement was.
From the orientation, when we could have truly serious fun, and then scream our heads out for our OGs without being called siao.
Then we got to know our classes. I got to know 05S44, and the other 24 people that made up 05S44, who have royally pissed me off at some points in time, but have put a smile to my face for many, uncountable points in time. At first we all erected barriers around us, but after 2 years together we can all approach each other and joke and share without looking stupid.
Then we got to join CCAs and engage in some 'CCA spirit', and know other crazy siaokias.
Then the lessons, which by themselves held many memorable moments.
Then the tests and exams, which left behind unforgettable memories.
And then the many special events along the way, too numerous to count. I believe the photo gallery our dear evil CT rep put up is a very good reminder of those.
Point is, we have made many steady and true friendships, something that would be hard to come by in the near future. We would like to remember many people that have crossed our lives, that barged into our paths, that crashed headlong into us, that we have fallen in love with =p
And after this, now what? As the girls go on to uni and build their own timetables, and the guys don the jungle camo, we will go on to build our own paths in life. We will go on to mug further, strive for the best, and live life to its fullest. We will go on to live, to love, to craft a new generation in our mould and to pass on into the sands of time.
Most importantly, now that we are out of the education system with nary a guiding hand to help guide us, we are on our own now. And may we all remain happy, and learn to seek the simple pleasures in grind and toil of day-to-day living. And just like what Wilbur has said, the A levels is just yet another wall we must overcome. There are possibly taller and bigger walls out there. What's coming will come, and we will have to face it when we do.
Well, since this is a class blog, and not some self-help booklet, I'll have to say something about this class. We have all built wonderful and strong bonds that link all of us together over these past 2 years in more ways than can be counted. May those bonds never be broken. May we never forget each other. May we remember each other 5, 10 20 30 years down the road. And may we embrace each other in our hearts.
This is not yet the end of this post. It will only be completed when all of you step forward and say something, since one person over here doesn't represent the views of 05S44. I'd think we would really love to find out what each of us thought of S44, and I know you all have somethings you would want to say to the class ;) And when we all read this post later we would grin silly as we reminiscence about those good old days.
